Volunteer Recognition Event

At the end of it all Let's Celebrate!
Celebrate the success of the 1998 Saskatchewan Winter Games.
This is the last big event of the Games and will be a great opportunity to relax with fellow volunteers to reflect on the work each of us contributed to making the Games a success.

As a result of your hard work and dedication to the Games, we invite all volunteers to a recognition
party after the closing ceremonies on Saturday, February 28 at the Evergreen Centre Auditorium.
This invitation is extended to all volunteers.  Admission is free by wearing your volunteer badge.
Door prizes will be given away—you must be present to win.

Hello Volunteers And Thank You

Did you volunteer before December 1, 1997 and have not yet been called to confirm a placing?  If so, we would like you to contact the volunteer committee at the Games Office at 862-1998.  We are constantly striving to place everyone where they want to be, so let us know if you think we may have missed you.  Thank you for your patience.

Volunteers, We Need Your Help

We all like to work with our friends.  Just think, if all 800 registered volunteers recruited one friend, our volunteer list would stand at 1600 people; nearly enough to fill all the job.  And that, of course, is if each volunteer did only one shift.  We encourage you, if you have the time, to do more than one shift.

A Taste of What Is To Come!

The weekend of January 16, 17 & 18, Nipawin welcomed guests and athletes from across Zone 8 who were participating in several pre-games events.

Zone 8 team qualifying competitions were held in Nipawin January 16 - 18, 1998 for judo, weightlifting, hockey and ringette.

With the arrival of these out of town athletes, coaches and parents, Nipawin residents and local businesses were given a glimpse of what to expect for the entire Games week.

The hosting of the Winter Games will leave not only lasting legacies in the form of equipment and expanded facilities.  The Games will also create a tremendous opportunity for local and area businesses to promote their services and for Nipawin to showcase itself as a tourist destination and as a great place to live.
